Confidence boosted by its aggressive showing in Sunday’s Tour of Flanders, the BMC Racing Team is putting its squad for Wednesday’s Scheldepriis behind the sprinter Alexander Kristoff.
The 23 year old was tenth in the race last year and is continuing to develop his talent. “I've been training well the past month but when I came to Belgium, I got sick," he said. "So the first days of De Panne were hard. But the last day, I felt strong and finished fifth, so it gives me confidence.”
Also competing in the race will be US favourite George Hincapie (pictured), who was a very solid sixth in Flanders. According to BMC Racing Team director Fabio Baldato, the American, Manuel Quinziato and Michael Schär will use the 200 kilometer race principally to build condition for Paris-Roubaix on Sunday.
The team will also consist of Marcus Burghardt, John Murphy, Danilo Wyss and Simon Zahner.
