Run off last Sunday, Liege-Bastogne-Liege brought the 2011 Spring Classics to a close. The last of the Ardennes Classics saw a big battle amongst the UCI ProTeams, with the Schleck brothers Frank and Andy throwing down the gauntlet towards the end in a bid to prevent Philippe Gilbert from taking his fourth straight win this month.
The Leopard Trek riders were ultimately unsuccessful in that bid, having to be satisfied with second and third at the finish in the Liege suburb of Ans. However despite Gilbert's dominance, there were some very good battles during the course of the Classic, and also some stunning scenery in the Belgian sunshine.
VeloNation's Jered Gruber was at the race and took a host of impressive shots; click on the thumbnails below to access his full gallery of photos from the day's racing.
