This year will mark the 75th year of the Belgian semi-classic Gent-Wevelgem. To celebrate it's 75th anniversary, the organizers are having a special tribute to all of the race's former winners on February 15 in Moorsele, Wevelgem.

Already slated to be in attendance are Freddy Maertens, Ferdi Van Den Haute, Willy Vekemans, Frank Hoste, Raymond Impanis, Eric Vander Aerden, Nico Mattan and Georges Pintens.

The event is sure to be a history-rich gathering, with locals putting together memorabilia from that past 70 editions of the race. The race was only cancelled four times due to war in the region, and the 71st edition is set on the racing calendar for Wednesday, April 8. The winner last year was Rabobank's talented Oscar Freire.
