Although the Dutch rider Joost Posthuma has a contract valid for 2012 with the Leopard Trek team, De Telegraaf is reporting that the rider looks very likely to move to the new GreenEdge squad instead.
The Luxembourg setup has been plunged into uncertainty after the departure of its general manager Brian Nygaard and the coming on board of Johan Bruyneel, various RadioShack riders and the sponsors from the American team.
The 30 year old rider has a year remaining with his current setup but after that is uncertain about his future. If better terms are offered by the Australian setup, including a multi-year deal or a better chance to ride bigger races, that deal would be a more attractive one.
Should Leopard Trek give him the go ahead, he would join fellow Dutchman Sebastian Langeveld, Pieter Weening and Jens Mouris on the team.
Postuma is a solid all rounder who has taken the overall classification in the Three Days of De Panne, the Tour of Luxembourg and the Vuelta a Andalucia. He would add depth to the new Australian setup, which is predicted to get a WorldTour licence for 2012.
